just finished watching kannagi and akane-iro ni somaru saka (akasaka)..allow me to summarise them individually (might contain spoilers!)
kannagi is about this guy, Jin, who meets this lady while he was younger (im not sure if he regarded her as a shrine maiden or a goddess at that time). in the present time frame, he's a student in his school's art club, and when his friend gave him a piece of sacred wood, he decided to carve out the lady he saw..who later came alive and started entering his life. the whole show started off as a light-hearted comedy. i felt that the pace of the show was just right..and with all the parodies, jabs and puns..the show still maintains its hmm..cheerfulness..even after taking on a more serious tone when the show progressed. the ending was a bit ambiguous though (in the sense between Nagi and Jin)..but i felt that it was quite cruel towards tsugumi..who was supporting Jin all the while but yet had to endure such a painful ending (watch the show to know more..im lazy to spoil/type)..let's hope there will be a season 2 for this sometime in the future
akasaka is a typical harem romance comedy show, depicting the love life of the protagonist, junichi. the whole show started with yuuhi getting picked up by some gangsters, and junichi coming in to save her..this started the initial chemistry between the 2 of them..but when yuuhi offered to thank him..he just walked away acting cool and stuff..until he reached home and felt like an idiot for not even asking for her name (hahaha i think this case is very applicable to real life situations)..the next day..yuuhi was transferred from another school into junichi's school..and erh..coincidentally (if not there won't be any story) into junichi's class..they were then able to introduce themselves to each other properly..but..as with most shows of this genre..the 2nd day..junichi did something stupid which caused yuuhi to have a murderous intent towards him..that night..yuuhi came to his house..and it happened that actually both their fathers have agreed to let them wed! so subsequently we see the development of all the female cast related in junichi..and how they, in one way or another, fell for him. the ending wasn't what i really expected though..and there were some unanswered questions regarding minato's background..but nevertheless..it was a nice show! esp. when ren-ren acting all jealous..hahaha

last week of hols
ahh it's already the last week of the vacation! i had been bumming around the WHOLE month..which..kinda rocks..no commitment no pressure no nothing! but this also reflects the painful truth..that sg is really boring! there were days that i just didnt feel like staying at home, but there's nothing to do out there either..so i ended up just sleeping the day away
not trying to ruin our tourism industry, but at least for me, there's really very little variety in whatever is available to do in sg. it's either casual/window shopping at the few shopping malls, figurine snooping at my usual spots, catching a movie, bowling, occasional ktv..and all coupled with the irritating humid weather..which just makes you wanna stay home instead of just randomly walking around..sometimes when i see tourists..i really feel like asking them to give me some advice on what i can do here..argh!
oh well..i guess i really need another well deserved break..some of them planning to do another tw trip next year..but im not sure if i would get my GSS spot..if i do..i would be flying to japan~ whee!

ef - a tale of melodies
just finished watching the last episode of the series..which actually connected the events in [a tales of memories] with those in [a tale of melodies]..writing a finale for the whole series
i heard of quite a number of people that did not like this series..but personally i felt that the story was well written - it shows how fragile we are, how our past affects and changes our personalities and make us who we are now, the unpredictability of life, and also, how small the world really is. i felt that how the story was very smartly portrayed, albeit a bit artistic at times - there were many occasions metaphors were used, and scenes with distorted colors (eg monochrome scenes) that helped in emphasizing the emotions the characters were going through. as a lot of time was spent in the development of the characters' backgrounds, the characters felt very real and rich, and a connection with their current personalities and their past is clearly present.
overall the second season had a more serious tone than the first season, but nevertheless both seasons were very realistic (except for Yuuko, who is an angel). surely a nice break from the typical harem romance comedy shows that are all over the place.

i realised it has been a long time since i last posted..hahaha..just finished rearranging my cupboard AGAIN and adding my new figurines in..phew..i didnt know it was so hard to fix them..especially the smaller ones..each nendoroid took me about 5 to 10 minutes, and the figmas took me about 10 to 15 minutes..funniest was the 1/8 miku..i think i got it done in 20sec..hahaha
i'll put the pictures up later..but just for the sake of keeping track, the figurines i had placed inside within the past 3 hours are figma tsukasa and kagami, kagamine rin and len nendoroids, GSC 1/8 hatsune miku, figma fate testarossa, shana nendoroid, 4x HGIF lucky star set 2, 8x figure meister lucky star, kotobukiya 1/6 louise sweet white version..now there's still a fate/zero saber, a small index figurine (not index, touma's schoolmate..i just cant recall the name now), and some free eva figurine i got..ahh..i need more space!

science in our daily lives
ok i am bored from studying..in view of the exam season now..i suddenly had the inspiration to post this..hahaha
before anyone continues reading, please just take this post light heartedly..i mean no offence but just as a small stress-relieving joke
ever wondered how is learning all these science/knowledge useful in our daily lives?
i can come up with some examples actually.
let's first start with nucleophilic substitutions, Sn1 and Sn2. in both cases, to get attached to your target of choice, ie the substrate, you must ensure that either 1: the leaving group is gone like in the case of Sn1 (ie. single) or 2: the leaving group is going like in the case of Sn2 (ie. breaking up)..then next is the stereochemical factors..the substituents (ie. friends/cliques/family?) must not be in your way..if not the bonding will never occur between you and the substrate..quite true right?
ever heard of heisenberg uncertainty principle? i'm not a physics student..but in general, the concept of it is that the product of displacement and momentum is greater or equal to a constant (Planck's constant/2 if im not wrong), but the more you are certain of 1 of the parameters, the higher is the uncertainty of the other parameter. think of it this way, how fast you proceed in a relationship is analogous to the momentum..and how long you will be/had been together is analogous to the displacement. ok..now..the displacement can be measured simply by the numbers of days/weeks/months/years/whatever have passed since you guys got together, and the speed can be measured by hmm..gut feeling? so case 1, you know how fast you are going, but you will never know how long you will last. case 2, you know how long you have lasted, but you do not know how fast you went. can be proven by these few statements: "we had been together for xx months (a certain displacement), don't you think we should bring our relationship to the next level (an uncertain momentum)?" "we had only known each other for xx months (a certain displacement), perhaps we should take things slowe (uncertain momentum)." the statements can continue..but you get my point.
thermodynamics and kinetics, the two theories that have to go hand in hand in nature. thermodynamics determine whether a reaction is favaroble, kinetics determine how fast it proceeds. our behaviour/movement can be described as brownian motion, we're all actually moving in random movements relative to each other. anyone who has done a bit of science will have learnt that for 2 molecules to react, the reaction muz be favorable..meaning the end product must be stable. they must be able to exert some form of attraction on each other..like electrostatic attraction..so that the probability of the random motions that will cause them to collide will increase. and collision must occur in the right orientation. with all the thermodynamics in place, next will be the kinetics. the reaction should be able to proceed if all the barriers, like energy barriers, are not in place. if not, a catalyst can always be used. ponder over this, sounds like humans making new friends?

very weird series of dreams
ok i need to write this down before i forget the details
i just woke up..and i had a BIZARRE string of dreams throughout the entire night
started off with the first dream..this one i don't exactly remember the details, as it is the first dream..happened like 6 hours ago..but the gist of it is that i was at this counter paying for something? if i not wrong i was buying/borrowing manga..yea..ok so anyway there was a cute cashier..somehow her i/c was on the table, i commented that she don't look like her in her i/c, somehow her i/c ended up in a comic i was reading, then someone commented that maybe she used her i/c as a bookmark..lol i woke up and was like ok wth..i remember her name was quite unique..but i cant figure out now..in chinese there were 5 characters..hurr hurr
went back to sleep again, and this time a long second dream started..began with me going to school..was nearly late so i just shoved everything into my bag and left for school..met X (identities covered to protect privacy..hahaha) on the bus..then started talking and yea..just crapping around..after that realised i forgot to bring extra clothes to stay in school..when we alighted from the bus suddenly X goes out of the picture..but yea called back home to check if anyone was home so that they could help me send my clothes to school..hahaha
then i woke up in reality..to check the time..1040hrs..and went back to sleep again..this time a last dream started..i don't remember how it began..but i was in this "alternate universe" classroom whereby some theft has occurred, and they were trying to find out who did it..then i was up at the whiteboard writing things in WHITE CHALK..lol..don't ask me why..and of the words i wrote..i can vividly recall that i wrote 2 words wrong..the words "fang1 fa3 (method)" i wrote as "fang4 (put) fa3 (hair)"..lol..i mean wth i don't think my chinese is that bad to write this type of words out..but ok anyway after that i think i just got pissed with the way the class was handling things and just left the classroom..hahaha..sounds pretty much like me in the real life..oh well anyway after that scene i saw X and another guy in the corridor/another classroom..don't recall..then yea i think they were supposed to dance for something..but the guy left for some unknown reason..hmm..so i went over and asked for her hand to dance..you know..bow, look down on the floor, raise your left hand out..and hope she holds it..and yea she held it then we began dancing for the school festival..hahahha..think i have been watching too much anime

2 more days to finals
ah..2 more days to the start of exams..and i just started my studying today..didn't realise i had so much to study for maths..sian
had been playing Star Ocean: First Departure on my psp since last week..lol..completed it on Sunday..realised that Ilia looked/sounded a bit like my eccentric twin..hahaha! but the game had a boring ending..i thought at least my main character would develop some romance with some of the side characters..disappointing man..
oh well..time to put my psp aside again until another decent game that's worth my time is released

it's the small things..
i guess it's really the small things that matter..a simple message from her can send my heart fluttering..
just watched the latest episode of toaru majutsu no index, inside it was stated that the human brain can store up to 140 years worth of memories, that is, with perfect memorization. i do not have perfect memorization, or for that matter, i have quite a poor memory..i hate memorizing stuffs..but little acts like such just gets embedded easily into part of the 140yr archives..
perhaps its due to the irregularities of such occurrences that creates an euphoria when it happens..as the saying goes..you will only appreciate things after you've lost them..
maybe next time..my thesis should be on the effect of endorphins and enkephalins on human memory

start of a new month
ahh..been getting on-and-off fevers for the past 2 weeks..feels damn *!)#&*^$*
had a barrage of tests in the past few weeks..from maths to biochem then physics..and its finally over! now only left 4 exam papers..burp
somehow i feel there's..something..not quite in place..i just don't have the..feeling..when i do papers..its just weird..i cant seem to do papers as fast as i used to as well..must be the 2 years of decomposition..
oh well..another month before i fly off again!

delayed post
been too tired lately to post anything..so anyway here goes..
spent my hari raya/children's day studying for physics test..which i think i still died in the end..damn paper..felt that there was not enough time and also..i had no space to scribble my workings! argh..
got back my biochem paper..quite glad with it..at least shows me that my brain has not completely gone mouldy..but the next biochem paper looks scary..seems very content heavy..sigh..
brought kenneth to organic chem lecture on friday as he wanted to sight see..then met up with weida and brought them to the clementi bookstore to buy their books for their university studies..went for dinner together with alex and co at night..man think i can no longer whack buffets..i seem to have quite small instantaneous appetite now..
unproductive weekend..spent my saturday sleeping..then sunday brought my cousin out to get something..apparently the shop ran out of stock..so can be considered a wasted trip..met up with my relatives after that for dinner..which concludes the weekend..
attended matlab on monday..and gosh it's really sian to find out that you in fact have no idea what you are typing into the program..went to KLP to collect my new lucky star swings from latendo after school with jamie..we ended up buying one extra set to split so that we can display the complete set and use the split set
wasn't feeling well on tuesday..ended up skipping biochem lecture to get more sleep..only went for maths lecture..after that went to JP to have dinner with jamie and wp..and went back hall to nap before reading up for the maths quiz the next day..
crashed wp's chem lab after maths tutorial..then suddenly felt very thankful for the training i received in poly..apparently i realised that most of the students there did not have proper skills to carry out the experiment..like bad weighing methods..improper titration methods..etc etc..i saw that the lab supervisor had to correct many of them..
had a long thursday tho..morning was physics..the 1st half of it was alright..mentioning about specific heat capacities and temperature calculations..the 2nd half..when thermodynamics began..start to turn into a mathematical equation nightmare..crashed organic chem, modern chem, then solid states lectures after that..and finally attending my own biochem lecture..the 3hours bombardment of proteins, amino acids and peptides since wednesday was uber heavy..need some time to absorb them
overslept this morning..woke up at 12+..nearing 1pm..printed my notes and left for school..continued to get bombarded with new equations in thermo-d..after that met kenneth and weida for dinner, movie, lan then supper..ahh..spent quite a bit today..

brought kenneth to organic chem lecture on friday as he wanted to sight see..then met up with weida and brought them to the clementi bookstore to buy their books for their university studies..went for dinner together with alex and co at night..man think i can no longer whack buffets..i seem to have quite small instantaneous appetite now..
unproductive weekend..spent my saturday sleeping..then sunday brought my cousin out to get something..apparently the shop ran out of stock..so can be considered a wasted trip..met up with my relatives after that for dinner..which concludes the weekend..
attended matlab on monday..and gosh it's really sian to find out that you in fact have no idea what you are typing into the program..went to KLP to collect my new lucky star swings from latendo after school with jamie..we ended up buying one extra set to split so that we can display the complete set and use the split set
wasn't feeling well on tuesday..ended up skipping biochem lecture to get more sleep..only went for maths lecture..after that went to JP to have dinner with jamie and wp..and went back hall to nap before reading up for the maths quiz the next day..
crashed wp's chem lab after maths tutorial..then suddenly felt very thankful for the training i received in poly..apparently i realised that most of the students there did not have proper skills to carry out the experiment..like bad weighing methods..improper titration methods..etc etc..i saw that the lab supervisor had to correct many of them..
had a long thursday tho..morning was physics..the 1st half of it was alright..mentioning about specific heat capacities and temperature calculations..the 2nd half..when thermodynamics began..start to turn into a mathematical equation nightmare..crashed organic chem, modern chem, then solid states lectures after that..and finally attending my own biochem lecture..the 3hours bombardment of proteins, amino acids and peptides since wednesday was uber heavy..need some time to absorb them
overslept this morning..woke up at 12+..nearing 1pm..printed my notes and left for school..continued to get bombarded with new equations in thermo-d..after that met kenneth and weida for dinner, movie, lan then supper..ahh..spent quite a bit today..
ok now life stories aside..the new season of shows had begun..watching quite a few of them now..namely clannad2, shikabane hime, toradora, akasaka, toaru majutsu no index, kannagi, ef - a tale of melodies, kyou no go no ni, tales of the abyss
hmm ok..now that's quite a bit..but mainly most of them are comedy-themed shows..with only 2 having a more serious tone to them

bought another long-awaited phone earlier today..costed a bomb but..it was just too tempting! the stock will only arrive on tuesday..oh well..just hope its a good buy..and not some impulse act i would regret..

argh just can't believe how much i was affected after typing everything out 2 days ago..
there's this saying "we are what the past has made us"..perhaps some of my peculiar habits now can be explained by that..
i can no longer get close to anyone else now..it's not a matter of feeling vulnerable or what not..but i guess..i'm just hoping for a spark to trigger off a miracle..a sharp twist in fate..
then again..miracles are called miracles because they won't happen..

restarted my keyboard lessons today..and man i sure had a hard time trying to catch up..hadn't been exactly playing with my keyboard since my lessons ended in june..only occasionally trying to play the True Tears piece that i got online..the leap from the 2nd phase to the 3rd phase is indeed hugeeeeee..my fingers and forearms are so damn sore from practice..zzz..
met up with some of my ex-army colleagues for dinner after that..then went to this place to chill after dinner..quite cool..there's no cover charge or anything..we just ordered drinks and could sit around and sing the karaoke if we wanted..quite a nice place to chill actually..tho' the drinks were a bit expensive..but i quite like the white wine..
during our stay there..there was a time when a couple was dueting this song..brought back some nice memories..i remembered clearly..MANY YEARS AGO..i had a chalet after collection of o-level results..then on the last day i left early in the morning as i had to attend a student council investiture..after which i joined back my friends at a ktv..over there when i arrived i actually sat beside her..then there was this singing of a duet song..i actually wanted to sing with her..but sigh..don't know how come the other girl picked up the mic..nevertheless i just continued with the song..after that she picked up the mic and started singing..and i still do remember her actually leaning her back towards me..like using me as a backrest..i really didn't mind..but damn..why couldn't i see how things were then..
and typing that part of the post just triggered a series of other scenes..the first dance i had with her during d&d; the sunrise that we were supposed to watch but ended up waiting at the wrong spot; the trip to supper together although she wasn't feeling well; the scarf that was put around my neck to console me when i was damn furious; the dentist trips whereby she would wait patiently outside for me as she's scared of dentists; the 1st movie we watched together where i think she was very bored but accompanied me so that i could see elva; the calls i get on my mobile during midnights as she was afraid to walk back home alone; the personality tests that we would do together at times; the horoscopes that she would read to me from magazines; the races we had done online to see who could do ten year series faster; the gossips she would tell me about her friends; the little cute picture sms'es that i would receive randomly from her..which there was one i particularly liked it a lot..but i lost it during a phone transition..and she kept it and sent it back to me on my 16th birthday; the strawberry lollipop that she bought for me when i was feeling down; the channel that we created..which she suggested it to be named after a movie that was airing on tv that weekend; the private messages i would receive from her when i suddenly became quiet in our channel; the rodent-ish nicknames we gave each other after one of her friends made fun of her and i had to stand up for her; the x'mas cards that she pretended to not include me in her mailing lists; the little jigsaw handphone strap that she went through quite some trouble getting; the photos whereby she was supposed to develop extras for the class..but ended up only helping me develop an extra set; the time i had to beg for the polaroid camera from another classmate so that i could take a shot with her at the last official day of school; the spectacle which i fixed for her when someone stepped on it; the nights whereby we exchanged sms'es till either of us fall asleep; the day she asked me to be her shifu..
so many memories..

i think..i really ruined something beautiful at that time..
but i don't exactly have the courage to now..

yawn..
busy week..had forensic sci quiz on wed..MAF celebrations on thurs..and a bbq just now..
lets do some reporting chronologically..wed..man that stupid quiz..i think i made a mistake..there goes my hope of full marks..roar!
thursday..attended the mid-autumn festival celebrations..man the food sucked..the variety of the food sucked..the quantity wasn't adequate..and the committee members..omg..their efficiency was next to zero..got damn pissed at the end of the celebs.. came home yesterday night after that..i went straight to lie on my bed..and i just concussed there until this morning..a slurpus 13hrs of sleep..but i guess it still isn't enough..i'm still feeling sleepy now..
today..after tutorials i walked past the quadrangle..and i saw the physics department's festival..there were SO MUCH FOOD..and SO MANY VARIETIES..which made me think..how can a DIVISION's celebration be this much more grand than a FACULTY's celebration? bloody committee..you guys better wake up before i flame this on some other forums..spit! attended my bbq after that..didn't really mix around..guess i'm really turning into an anti-social being..guess i can live in silence afterall..just sat around watching movies throughout the event

5cm/s?
it's 4am..and today marks the start of the 7th week! the last week of the term!
oh man i can't believe my recess week is finally within grasp! i desire for my much needed rest!
went out just now to get my tutorials done..saw my jiejie during dinner..gosh don't know how long have i not met her..we used to be very close back in secondary school..when IRC was still a common word used..i remembered us having a few channels together that time..from #webdesign to #life.of.delusions, then to #delusional..after which there also was a #bitched..lol..
then there was also MUD..her pyromancer was always sucking my dragon's money..and always running out of stamina to cast spells..after she quitted mud-ing..she passed me her pyro..which i had a very hard time training..was supposed to try to HM it..but i ended up giving up..human mages were really weak in the game as opposed to drow mages, and pyromancers were especially hard to train due to the huge amount of fire-immunes around..man..really missed those days..
but i guess it's really true that when people go on their separate ways..the bonds between them tend to drift as well..we didn't really get to talk much the moment she entered the jc-phase..oh well..

9.00am - woke up as contractors came over to check some leakage problems
10am - fell asleep again
12 noon - woke up to eat breakfast
12.30pm - played ff4

6.00pm - woke up, continued to play ff4

ok as a side note! at least my twin was very helpful today! we were chatting earlier on today..and she went to help me source for some information, which according to her, was done in a way that's not her style..hahhaa..ok la at least now i see that actually she does have her good points..instead of cursing at me everyday..hahaha

before i forget..
hmm..before i forget..si twin! it's all your fault! it didn't turn out as planned! roar!! =(
beauty sleep
man it feels great to be back home! had a wonderful LONG sleep..fell asleep last night around 11pm..and woke up at 12noon today..hahaha..supposed to go school to crash the 0930-1130 111 lecture and 1330-1530 113 lecture..but i felt that recovering my lost sleep was more important!
met up with kr for lunch after i woke up..his last lunch in sg before he flies back to UK later on tonight. came back around 3.30..and i continued sleeping until 9.30pm..so that's a total of 19hrs of sleep for the whole of today! man i feel so rejuvenated!
now looking at my schedule..here's what's upcoming for me:
wed - forensic science mid term..zzz
thurs - spms mid autumn festival celebrations..though i doubt many people will turn up as a vast majority of them have 111 mid terms on friday..
fri - some bbq event..but not exactly very motivated to go 'cos i just found out some new info..
sat - start of RECESS WEEK!
sun - school festival at some school in west coast!
ok i guess the real fun starts at the end of the coming week..7 more days to go!
met up with kr for lunch after i woke up..his last lunch in sg before he flies back to UK later on tonight. came back around 3.30..and i continued sleeping until 9.30pm..so that's a total of 19hrs of sleep for the whole of today! man i feel so rejuvenated!

ahh..was just bitching around with my stupid twin..found a new NICE background to share in msn with her..yet she was there commenting that although it's nice..it must be from some anime..i mean roar! what's wrong with anime art..as long as its nice it serves its purpose! and to this stupid thing, please feel more honored that you're the ONLY one with a custom background and custom color scheme in my msn! now i must get used to the pink color she chose..

suddenly felt like listening to That Thing You Do! by The Wonders..hmm..after which i went to wiki the song..and found out that actually The Wonders is a fictional band! the song was actually performed by 2 guys..man can't believe i'd been kept in the dark for so long!
anyway..there were several other songs featured in their website..it just brings back so many memories listening to them..
since i'm at it..i find that humans are akin to music - when we listen to a piece of music/song for the first time..the first impression that the song gives us is actually the melody, harmony and arrangement of the song..only if we like the tune then would we read deeper into the song's lyrics and understand it.. pretty much like how humans work - the first impression we get on another person is very much the appearance and physical attributes..like the tune of music..and if we're comfortable with them and get closer to them..we will begin finding out more about their character and personality..the equivalent of lyrics in songs.
just my two cents worth.

argh..can't concentrate
i've been trying to get some studying done..but apparently i cant exactly concentrate at home..i ended up rewatching the whole Myself;Yourself series again. i still got shocked at the same point as when i first watched it..even though i had already anticipated the event..gosh..
although this is the second time i'm watching the series, it still managed to touch me and i thoroughly enjoyed it..perhaps because it's one of the more plot- and reality-driven animes around.. as i watched the whole series in one shot this time round, i realised that actually throughout each episode there were many subtle details that i missed when i watched them previously on a weekly basis..small minor details that actually describe and define the different characters in the show.
one of the details i noticed was the piano notes when Sana played the Myself;Yourself piece in one of the episodes..i went to try out after that..but apparently something sounds wrong..roar..must be that the artist didn't get the keys correct! and until now..i am only able to get the chords and notes for the OP theme..but not the Myself;Yourself piece that was played by him..sigh!
and actually, i realised my personality was in fact quite similar to Nanaka's - in that we would always be constantly worrying yet afraid to ask anything about it..
i really do recommend this series to those who like romance-comedy shows..but please do note that the later half of the series starts to get a little dark as the characters' plots develop..
to end of..here's a quote from prologue of one of the episodes..

although this is the second time i'm watching the series, it still managed to touch me and i thoroughly enjoyed it..perhaps because it's one of the more plot- and reality-driven animes around.. as i watched the whole series in one shot this time round, i realised that actually throughout each episode there were many subtle details that i missed when i watched them previously on a weekly basis..small minor details that actually describe and define the different characters in the show.
one of the details i noticed was the piano notes when Sana played the Myself;Yourself piece in one of the episodes..i went to try out after that..but apparently something sounds wrong..roar..must be that the artist didn't get the keys correct! and until now..i am only able to get the chords and notes for the OP theme..but not the Myself;Yourself piece that was played by him..sigh!
and actually, i realised my personality was in fact quite similar to Nanaka's - in that we would always be constantly worrying yet afraid to ask anything about it..
i really do recommend this series to those who like romance-comedy shows..but please do note that the later half of the series starts to get a little dark as the characters' plots develop..

weird thoughts
it's bad when you have too much time in your hands - you tend to start thinking about stuffs..
that's what'd happened to me..i had been giving some thought to certain issues lately
i was late for a lecture today..ok not that i'm actually in that module..but still i crashed in hope to refresh my memory and learn some new stuffs that were not taught previously (don't ask me why i was exempted..i seriously have no idea)
which make me start finding that being a scholar sometimes feels just outright sucky, especially when you start noticing that everyone else is working harder than you. it's not that i have anything against them working hard or having different study habits..there's just this..other feeling present that make me tend to hate myself a bit. just by having that title..people will start to have expectations and have competitive comparisons with you..which isn't too bad if you look at it as a form of positive reinforcement..but ultimately..i would still rather set my own achievements and expectations instead of having people speculating all the time.. i really think i still enjoyed my secondary school life/poly life more..there wasn't so much external influences present..i could just set my own pace and goals..without anyone really enforcing any expectations upon me..
honestly speaking, i don't really enjoy being alone, yet at the same time, i do ocassionally feel the urge to just completely be shut out from the world..i think my eq is getting real bad these days due to this paradox..
speaking of paradox..allow me to side track a bit..i was just reading this story which involves some discussion about time-space paradox..apparently inside it was stated that "the book of time has already been written. from a macrocosmic viewpoint, everything that is going to happen has already happened. therefore, if a person from the future participates in a past event, he becomes a part of that event—for the simple reason that he was a part of it in the first place—and a paradox cannot possibly arise." meaning to say if someone had travelled back in time, there should not be any distortions in the time-space reality, as what they did back in the past should have already occurred and that the effects are already in the current future's reality. which led to me thinking, let's say a girl travels back in time..say a couple hundred of years..and gets married. how does the "she" in the future in that case get born? is there some sort of conservation of consciousness in play then? and also, in a more scientific approach, won't there be some sort of DNA issues as..a couple hundred years from now..an exact same DNA will get coded as the girl is being born again? ok please take note i'm not trying to spark off any religious/scientific/whatever argument here..it's just my 2 cents worth..
ok back on track..i feel that i no longer really have someone i can really spill my thoughts to..i used to have quite a few close friends whom i can talk to about anything..but after we went our separate ways..like going different schools and such..we tend to begin to drift apart..reminds me of the anime 5cm/sec that i watched a while back..it's really true that friends tend to start drifting apart as everyone start to pave their own paths in their lives..
amongst which..there was one that i really regretted..we were actually still very close even after we went our separate ways..but i guess after she got attached..i myself started to build a barrier between us as i did not exactly like being a 3rd party or whatever you may call it..and until now..i guess that barrier's still there..we no longer speak so openly with each other..and the replies come in like..eons after i had sent mine..sigh..i just hate myself for not actually just told her how i felt that time..

wonderful!
today marks the day i officially get to know someone new from my school..though not from my course. come to think of it..it took me exactly 1 month to get a new friend..cool..

been super tired lately..i think i have already achieved a state whereby i can just fall asleep anywhere..even while standing on the bus/train
been doing some thinking lately..i was really surprised how come i got to know people in sec sch/poly, but unable to do so here..perhaps i've become more antisocial..or its just a uni culture that everyone is just interested in doing their own things..
it's a thursday today..and..thursdays..are just wonderful! i get to go home! and perhaps..i may even end up with some bonus in school later..if i am that lucky..but i've more or less already given up on fate

i think its very true..at least to me..there's something about witty girls that exert a gravitational pull

random rants
finally got my own laptop over the weekend..a nice sexy sleek vaio sr12g..only downside..there ain't any red-colored models
collected my figurines too..my wave kagami, figumate shana's and lucky star jigsaw puzzle..was still pondering whether to purchase the wave tsukasa..but i didnt see any at the shops i went to..weird..
met up with kenneth and weida on fri, kr then zx and co on sat, and finally ahmad and andy on sun..did some catching up with them. felt happy for both zj and ahmad as they had managed to get jobs..
another week of school is upcoming..im still not exactly in the mood for school..the quiz that just past..i believed i could've done better..but shit happens i suppose..
realised that actually cat's attached too..which leads to 3 probable semi-logical reasons i can come up with:
1) a certain 2-yr event whereby green is a common colour slowed me down and ruined my life
2) my affinity for attached girls is increasing
3) i have more luck with rodents
maybe now..i should rewire my brain a bit..but before that..i need some form of motivation

Reflections
let's see..what i had accomplished this week..
i got owned in a quiz..never expected that sort of question to come out..there goes my chance of taunting a certain group of people..

4th Week of School
i have just had the longest weekend ever..i didn't know remorse and regret could be so taxing on the spirits..

Ahh..
Man uni life sure is hectic..every week i am just looking forward to the weekends so i can come home and zzz on my nice bed and with my nice aircon on..
Today marks the 4th week of my uni life..think i shall sum up a bit on what had happened over the past 3 weeks..
firstly..i just cannot believe how much stuff i've forgotten..i seriously think that 2 yrs of my youth had genuinely been wasted and ruined.
apparently i haven't really got to know any new friends in my course yet..partly because im becoming more antisocial i suppose. i've been hanging out around with friends i already knew from poly or sec sch..and that's about it. perhaps its time for me to start to say hi to ppl..hmm..
just recently attended the scholars inauguration ceremony, i got to know a fellow scholar who resides in the same hall as i do. but..i guess my mind wasn't exactly focusing well that day..i actually forgotten to formally introduce ourselves -.-
hmm..now i had to write this somewhere! i am very irritated by a certain group of people, who think that they are very different from the masses, always wanting to distinguish themselves from the rest. In order not to leave too much internet trails on this issue, for those who want more information..just msn me and i'll let you know the stories.

Taiwan Trip!
Breakdown of my latest trip to Taiwan!
Day 1 -
Departed from Changi Airport on Saturday, 14 June 08, 1pm Singapore Time. After a 4 1/2hrs flight, we arrived at Taipei International Airport(is it tao yuan airport? i don't exactly remember the chinese name..haha)! Took a maxi-cab to our hotel, which is conveniently located between Taipei Main Station and Xi Men Ding! After we checked in, we rushed down to Xi Men Ding to hunt for food, as our last consumed meal was at 11am! Ahh..what a cultural shock! No offence to the ladies here, but in singapore, most of the girls/ladies we see either have their hair tied up in a ponytail, or rebonded and clipped. However in Taipei, the hair fashion is..totally AMAZING! Everyone's hairdo was uniquely different..you have to travel there to see it for yourself! Ok back to topic..the first shop that we passed by, was the Animate branch in Taipei! Oh my..but..i had to fuel my stomach first..so we hunted around and visited one of the more popular stalls - Ah Chung Mian Xian. It was very cheap..around SGD1.50 could get you a bowl of tasty mee sua! After that we hunted for the famed bubble tea..and indeed..it tasted very different..perhaps 'cos a cute girl served us =D
With the stomach full, i headed into Animate. There were 2 levels, the lower level consisted of magazines/mangas/CDs, while the upper level carried anime merchandises and some figurines. I went to the merchandise section, and i was so thrilled by the selection of merchandise they have! There were SO MANY stuff that you could not get in Singapore, either 'cos they are not for export, or are already sold out. I purchased some nice files, pencil boards and HP swings that i was unable to get in SG. After that, we did a little more walking around XMD area. Apparently as there were some laws against the pushcart foodstalls, all of the stall owners were VERY wary of their surroundings. When they were preparing the food, you could see them looking around, over their shoulders, to spot any sign of authorities approaching! I found it weird though, it is like the pushcart foodstalls is a selling point of the XMD district, yet they are clamping it down.. As it was already quite late, and most of the shops are already closed, we headed back to the hotel for a good night's rest.
Day 2 -
After breakfast at the hotel, we headed to Taipei 101 for some sight seeing. On the way there, we stumbled upon this huge bookstore, Eslite Bookstore. We went in to browse around, and i purchased a few mangas, namely Fate/Stay Night, Sola and Lucky Star, as it was MUCH cheaper than in Singapore. We then continued on to walk to Taipei 101, and the shopping centres around it were pretty much like the Ngee Ann City of SG. When we reached Taipei 101, there were many tour groups there, and it cost about SGD40 to go up to the observatory for sightseeing, so we decided not to go and instead use the money to shop around.
We next head to Wu Fen Pu..a wholesale market in Taipei. It was like Bugis Street, whereby there were many alleys with shops selling clothes, bags, accessories..all targetted at teenagers. I only got a t-shirt from there though..as most of the designs were not really my type.
After that we went back hotel to put everything down, as some of my friends bought 4 or 5 shirts at Wu Fen Pu (one of them brought only 1 extra shirt in his luggage -.-), and then we headed out to this Dinosaur-themed restaurant. It was very interesting there, as there was a Live band performance, and everything is linked to dinosaurs - the tables and chairs were fashioned like trunks and stumps, the tap in the washroom was actually the mouth of a dinosaur..etc etc. There was a very..happening group beside our table also..as they were celebrating the birthday of one of their friends..and playing truth or dare games
After dinner my friends wanted to go clubbing, and we took a rapid transit to Luxy (very famous club in taipei, you can google it for more info), only to find that it's open from Wednesday to Saturday ONLY. So they went to scout around for another club, and we ended up at Lava, whereby an entrance fee of around SGD25 could get you free flow drinks. The crowd there was very young - majority of them around 18-20 years old. As i am not exactly a clubbing type of person..i just chatted around with my friends inside..never exactly mingled around with any locals.. some of my friends were enjoying the free flow and spamming tequila shots like no tomorrow..and when they reached their limit we took a cab back to hotel. As requested by my friend in the tagboard..he wanted me to help him inform everyone that he noticed a girl in the club..whom he labelled as "Taipei No. 1"..hahaha
Day 3 -
We planned to go to Jiu Fen today..so we boarded the snail-slow train down to Rui Fang in the morning. We were supposed to change to a bus to get to jiu fen..but we could not find the bus stop..ended up asking this girl about the bus stop..and she didn't know anything either -.- After asking around a while more we boarded the bus and headed towards jiu fen. It was a more..cultural and traditional street market, as compared to xi men ding or wu fen pu. I managed to buy some souvenirs from there..but my other friends..i think they spent A LOT of souvenirs there..
we took a direct bus back to taipei city after that..and the nice cold weather made me concuss the moment i boarded the bus. we visited shihlin night market upon arriving at taipei city for dinner. It was different from what i had expected. During the 1st night..when we were shopping through xi men ding..all the foodstuffs that were being sold were either finger food, snacks or light meals that allowed us to carry around and consume at the same time. But in shihlin, it actually felt like a hawker centre in sg..which i did not really expect.
we went to walk around the actual night market after that..but to my disappointment, most of the stalls were closed by 10pm..i guess monday isn't a very good day to shop around in the market.. i ended up not buying anything from there..
Day 4 -
We headed to Dan Shui immediately after breakfast as it was a LONG journey down by the mrt. as usual we ended up just sleeping on the train until we arrived at our destination. The first place of interest that we wanted to visit is this stall that sells noodles-in-tofu, called Ah Ji. but our good tourguide zx apparently was a bit lost initially..hahaha..but nvm we still ended up in the stall..but i was quite put off as the stall was AT THE TOP OF A SLOPE..zzz.. initially i was quite reluctant to try the food..but yea..after much consideration i decided to giv it a go..but i scooped out the egg-ie part and gave it to jarrich..hahaha..turns out that the food was =D~
on our return trip to the mrt station..mr ho went to buy this erh..i duno how many cm tall ice cream..i guess it's still his msn pic at the time of this post (25 Aug 08 4:48AM). we then headed to bei tou to enjoy some hot springs bath..but it actually turned out to be a health and wellness spa..zzz..
We returned to hotel after that..then left to yong kang st for dinner. In many guides/guidebooks it was stated that the Din Tai Fung there was special and worth trying..but we decided to try something else..after some exploration we stumbled upon this noodle stall..the food there is CHEAP and DELICIOUS (ok at least for me the cheap part was true..i not sure about the rest). The restaurant's name is called Mian Guan..pls go try it should u visit taiwan next time! We loitered around the area after dinner..and some of them bought donuts for the next day's breakfast..
before heading back to the hotel, we decided to just walk around the taipei main station area to see if there was anything interesting. Surprisingly there was a HUGE crowd at that time (around 10pm), and we were curious what was going on. turned out that tuition classes just ended, that's why many school boys/girls/kids/etc were in the streets. as we walked past 1 tuition centre..omg..the sight was scary..the scores of ALL the students were being pasted on the walls like graffitti..man..
we headed into mcdonalds..and they wanted to buy a pork burger..hahaha..i forgot who it was..i think jarrich..he went to queue..and asked of there were any pork burgers..when they said no jarrich just walked away..hahaha! i remembered i couldn't stop laughing..then zx was there very enticed by this girl working there..as she had the name Xiao Ke Ai or sth like that (i am posting this 2months after my trip..i don't exactly remember a lot of things..)
Day 5 -
We visited this shopping mall in the morning..it was spherical in shape! but however..i guess everyone is just as lazy..none of the shops are actually opened..we had to kill about 1-2 hrs by loitering aimlessly before the shops get opened..jarrich managed to get a bag over there, which he planned to use for sch when term starts. then we saw this ufo catcher machine..i think zx and i were there trying to catch some stupid toy..lol..but in the end both of us didnt catch anything..zzz..
after that we left to this mala steamboat shop..that was advertised to have free flow haagen dazs ice cream! but when we arrived..they said that they are closed that day for renovation..and will only reopen the next day..ARGH!! my ice cream!! =( we ended up travelling to xi men ding..and had a mala steamboat there..it was ok..i had a lot of dough fritters and soft drinks there..haha
after that we begun to shop around..we split up into groups to shop..i managed to buy some cheap and rare figurines that could not be found in singapore..if only i had a larger budget and luggage, i would've gotten more over there! sigh..
all of us decided to skip dinner..as we were still quite full from the lunch steamboat..we just ate light snacks along the way while shopping. i went to visit the bubble tea stall again..but damn..only the owners were there selling..nevertheless i bought my last cup of taiwanese bubble tea then..
back at hotel..i spent a good deal of time trying to pack my stuff into my luggage..figurine boxes are just so bulky! if i remembered correctly, there was some good show on tv..and end up jarrich and i slept at around 4+ am
Day 6 -
After breakfast..we checked out from our hotel rooms and left our luggage at the lobby. As we had some time to kill..we decided to split up again to do our own things..zw zx and i went towards taipei main station as they wanted to buy stuff, whereas the rest went towards xi men ding to shop around. We accompanied zx to buy some CDs, after that accompanied zw to get figurines for his friend. we then took a cab back to xi men ding to try out the maid cafe. omg..seriously speaking..the food sucked..service..was so-so..i expected better for the price we were paying..
after that lunch..i had exactly 140NT left..which was for the bus to the airport..so i had to deal with zx in SGD..lol.. we got a cab back to hotel and met up with the rest of them..then headed to the airport. We were just..so sian at the airport..totally didn't want to come back..
ok i shall finish off this post with something funny that happened on the flight. as our good friend zx was like a trigger-happy cameraman, upon arrival at Changi Airport..he actually took out his camera..turned it on..and was about to take photos of the airport during night time..ALL OF THIS WHILE THE PLANE WAS STILL MOVING! the best part..the chief stewardess..who was just sitting directly opposite us (we sat at the first row), started to make the usual announcement.. "All passengers are to remain seated with your seat belts fastened until we come to a complete stop. Please do not turn on any electronic devices, such as mobile phones, laptops or camera until you have alighted from the plane" at the last line of the announcement..she looked at us, we looked at her..den she was there trying not to laugh out..cos zx was already prepared to shoot..hahahha..classic!

No offence to the ladies here, but in singapore, most of the girls/ladies we see either have their hair tied up in a ponytail, or rebonded and clipped. However in Taipei, the hair fashion is..totally AMAZING! Everyone's hairdo was uniquely different..you have to travel there to see it for yourself! Ok back to topic..the first shop that we passed by, was the Animate branch in Taipei! Oh my..but..i had to fuel my stomach first..so we hunted around and visited one of the more popular stalls - Ah Chung Mian Xian. It was very cheap..around SGD1.50 could get you a bowl of tasty mee sua! After that we hunted for the famed bubble tea..and indeed..it tasted very different..perhaps 'cos a cute girl served us =D
With the stomach full, i headed into Animate. There were 2 levels, the lower level consisted of magazines/mangas/CDs, while the upper level carried anime merchandises and some figurines. I went to the merchandise section, and i was so thrilled by the selection of merchandise they have! There were SO MANY stuff that you could not get in Singapore, either 'cos they are not for export, or are already sold out. I purchased some nice files, pencil boards and HP swings that i was unable to get in SG. After that, we did a little more walking around XMD area. Apparently as there were some laws against the pushcart foodstalls, all of the stall owners were VERY wary of their surroundings. When they were preparing the food, you could see them looking around, over their shoulders, to spot any sign of authorities approaching! I found it weird though, it is like the pushcart foodstalls is a selling point of the XMD district, yet they are clamping it down.. As it was already quite late, and most of the shops are already closed, we headed back to the hotel for a good night's rest.
Day 2 -
After breakfast at the hotel, we headed to Taipei 101 for some sight seeing. On the way there, we stumbled upon this huge bookstore, Eslite Bookstore. We went in to browse around, and i purchased a few mangas, namely Fate/Stay Night, Sola and Lucky Star, as it was MUCH cheaper than in Singapore. We then continued on to walk to Taipei 101, and the shopping centres around it were pretty much like the Ngee Ann City of SG. When we reached Taipei 101, there were many tour groups there, and it cost about SGD40 to go up to the observatory for sightseeing, so we decided not to go and instead use the money to shop around.
We next head to Wu Fen Pu..a wholesale market in Taipei. It was like Bugis Street, whereby there were many alleys with shops selling clothes, bags, accessories..all targetted at teenagers. I only got a t-shirt from there though..as most of the designs were not really my type.
After that we went back hotel to put everything down, as some of my friends bought 4 or 5 shirts at Wu Fen Pu (one of them brought only 1 extra shirt in his luggage -.-), and then we headed out to this Dinosaur-themed restaurant. It was very interesting there, as there was a Live band performance, and everything is linked to dinosaurs - the tables and chairs were fashioned like trunks and stumps, the tap in the washroom was actually the mouth of a dinosaur..etc etc. There was a very..happening group beside our table also..as they were celebrating the birthday of one of their friends..and playing truth or dare games
After dinner my friends wanted to go clubbing, and we took a rapid transit to Luxy (very famous club in taipei, you can google it for more info), only to find that it's open from Wednesday to Saturday ONLY. So they went to scout around for another club, and we ended up at Lava, whereby an entrance fee of around SGD25 could get you free flow drinks. The crowd there was very young - majority of them around 18-20 years old. As i am not exactly a clubbing type of person..i just chatted around with my friends inside..never exactly mingled around with any locals.. some of my friends were enjoying the free flow and spamming tequila shots like no tomorrow..and when they reached their limit we took a cab back to hotel. As requested by my friend in the tagboard..he wanted me to help him inform everyone that he noticed a girl in the club..whom he labelled as "Taipei No. 1"..hahaha
Day 3 -
We planned to go to Jiu Fen today..so we boarded the snail-slow train down to Rui Fang in the morning. We were supposed to change to a bus to get to jiu fen..but we could not find the bus stop..ended up asking this girl about the bus stop..and she didn't know anything either -.- After asking around a while more we boarded the bus and headed towards jiu fen. It was a more..cultural and traditional street market, as compared to xi men ding or wu fen pu. I managed to buy some souvenirs from there..but my other friends..i think they spent A LOT of souvenirs there..
we took a direct bus back to taipei city after that..and the nice cold weather made me concuss the moment i boarded the bus. we visited shihlin night market upon arriving at taipei city for dinner. It was different from what i had expected. During the 1st night..when we were shopping through xi men ding..all the foodstuffs that were being sold were either finger food, snacks or light meals that allowed us to carry around and consume at the same time. But in shihlin, it actually felt like a hawker centre in sg..which i did not really expect.
we went to walk around the actual night market after that..but to my disappointment, most of the stalls were closed by 10pm..i guess monday isn't a very good day to shop around in the market.. i ended up not buying anything from there..
Day 4 -
We headed to Dan Shui immediately after breakfast as it was a LONG journey down by the mrt. as usual we ended up just sleeping on the train until we arrived at our destination. The first place of interest that we wanted to visit is this stall that sells noodles-in-tofu, called Ah Ji. but our good tourguide zx apparently was a bit lost initially..hahaha..but nvm we still ended up in the stall..but i was quite put off as the stall was AT THE TOP OF A SLOPE..zzz.. initially i was quite reluctant to try the food..but yea..after much consideration i decided to giv it a go..but i scooped out the egg-ie part and gave it to jarrich..hahaha..turns out that the food was =D~
on our return trip to the mrt station..mr ho went to buy this erh..i duno how many cm tall ice cream..i guess it's still his msn pic at the time of this post (25 Aug 08 4:48AM). we then headed to bei tou to enjoy some hot springs bath..but it actually turned out to be a health and wellness spa..zzz..
We returned to hotel after that..then left to yong kang st for dinner. In many guides/guidebooks it was stated that the Din Tai Fung there was special and worth trying..but we decided to try something else..after some exploration we stumbled upon this noodle stall..the food there is CHEAP and DELICIOUS (ok at least for me the cheap part was true..i not sure about the rest). The restaurant's name is called Mian Guan..pls go try it should u visit taiwan next time! We loitered around the area after dinner..and some of them bought donuts for the next day's breakfast..
before heading back to the hotel, we decided to just walk around the taipei main station area to see if there was anything interesting. Surprisingly there was a HUGE crowd at that time (around 10pm), and we were curious what was going on. turned out that tuition classes just ended, that's why many school boys/girls/kids/etc were in the streets. as we walked past 1 tuition centre..omg..the sight was scary..the scores of ALL the students were being pasted on the walls like graffitti..man..
we headed into mcdonalds..and they wanted to buy a pork burger..hahaha..i forgot who it was..i think jarrich..he went to queue..and asked of there were any pork burgers..when they said no jarrich just walked away..hahaha! i remembered i couldn't stop laughing..then zx was there very enticed by this girl working there..as she had the name Xiao Ke Ai or sth like that (i am posting this 2months after my trip..i don't exactly remember a lot of things..)
Day 5 -
We visited this shopping mall in the morning..it was spherical in shape! but however..i guess everyone is just as lazy..none of the shops are actually opened..we had to kill about 1-2 hrs by loitering aimlessly before the shops get opened..jarrich managed to get a bag over there, which he planned to use for sch when term starts. then we saw this ufo catcher machine..i think zx and i were there trying to catch some stupid toy..lol..but in the end both of us didnt catch anything..zzz..
after that we left to this mala steamboat shop..that was advertised to have free flow haagen dazs ice cream! but when we arrived..they said that they are closed that day for renovation..and will only reopen the next day..ARGH!! my ice cream!! =( we ended up travelling to xi men ding..and had a mala steamboat there..it was ok..i had a lot of dough fritters and soft drinks there..haha
after that we begun to shop around..we split up into groups to shop..i managed to buy some cheap and rare figurines that could not be found in singapore..if only i had a larger budget and luggage, i would've gotten more over there! sigh..
all of us decided to skip dinner..as we were still quite full from the lunch steamboat..we just ate light snacks along the way while shopping. i went to visit the bubble tea stall again..but damn..only the owners were there selling..nevertheless i bought my last cup of taiwanese bubble tea then..
back at hotel..i spent a good deal of time trying to pack my stuff into my luggage..figurine boxes are just so bulky! if i remembered correctly, there was some good show on tv..and end up jarrich and i slept at around 4+ am
Day 6 -
After breakfast..we checked out from our hotel rooms and left our luggage at the lobby. As we had some time to kill..we decided to split up again to do our own things..zw zx and i went towards taipei main station as they wanted to buy stuff, whereas the rest went towards xi men ding to shop around. We accompanied zx to buy some CDs, after that accompanied zw to get figurines for his friend. we then took a cab back to xi men ding to try out the maid cafe. omg..seriously speaking..the food sucked..service..was so-so..i expected better for the price we were paying..
after that lunch..i had exactly 140NT left..which was for the bus to the airport..so i had to deal with zx in SGD..lol.. we got a cab back to hotel and met up with the rest of them..then headed to the airport. We were just..so sian at the airport..totally didn't want to come back..
ok i shall finish off this post with something funny that happened on the flight. as our good friend zx was like a trigger-happy cameraman, upon arrival at Changi Airport..he actually took out his camera..turned it on..and was about to take photos of the airport during night time..ALL OF THIS WHILE THE PLANE WAS STILL MOVING! the best part..the chief stewardess..who was just sitting directly opposite us (we sat at the first row), started to make the usual announcement.. "All passengers are to remain seated with your seat belts fastened until we come to a complete stop. Please do not turn on any electronic devices, such as mobile phones, laptops or camera until you have alighted from the plane" at the last line of the announcement..she looked at us, we looked at her..den she was there trying not to laugh out..cos zx was already prepared to shoot..hahahha..classic!
Massively Delayed Update
Been too busy the past few weeks..clearing my ns stuffs..preparing my taiwan trip..settling my uni admin matters..finally all's over and I have some extra time here!
Let me start off with the new stuff I had gotten my hands on! Currently there are no pictures, i will place them here once i upload the photos. Due to the long time lapse from purchase till updating here, i shall try my best to put them in chronological order..
First there's the Zero no Tsukaima's 1/8 Louise, from Kotobukiya, as well as a set of Navel trading figurines. The trading figurines were an ORD gift from my chief clerk, so thank you very much chief!
Next would be a set of trading keychains of characters from Unison Shift. I don't exactly recognise all of them, but yea they look cute, and Nanatsuiro Drops' Sumomo was inside..so why not?
If i remember correctly, the next piece was a Nendoroid Hatsune Miku, from Vocaloid. I did not exactly plan to get this as i had alrady pre-ordered a 1/8 ver of Hatsune Miku, but seeing that Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Ren would be released later this year, i figured perhaps putting the 3 of them together would be nice!
The next set is Da Capo II's girls from Happinet. Its actually just Yume, Minatsu, Nanake and Akane, in either their school uniform and casual wear. There is a slight problem with this set though..as their heads are slightly heavy, they tend to be unable to balance themselves even though i've affixed them to the base plate. I remember coming back from taiwan and finding all of them lying on the glass panel -.- Now i've placed them leaning against the back of the shelf..hopefully it solves the issue. I wonder if there will be a second set released with the remaining cast..hmm..
After this would be the steals from taiwan! I had found Mahou Sensei Negima's Figumate series (vol 1), with Asuna, Konoka, Evangeline, Setsuna and Nodoka in their uniform. I also managed to get the Figure Meister Shana+Nanatsuiro Drops, BOTH vol. 1 and vol. 2! What a steal! And on the last day, i managed to get a display set of the disgaea figurines i've been hunting for so long. Although they are not in mint condition, but hey it's a complete set (minus Plenair..seems to be missing 1 variation of her..)! Now if i can only bring myself to fix them up..they had all been dismembered during the plane ride back to singapore..
And today, in SG Toy and Comic Convention, there's a free piece of Special Edition Mahou Sensei Negima Figumate being given away. It was totally random, and sadly, each person was only entitled to one piece (unless there were people who held multiple convention passports..then it's a different story). But nevertheless, i got a Makie, which was something that my current collection did not have!
After the convention, i went to collect my pre-ordered stuff that arrived - Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru's Takako (Alter) and Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS' Figma Nanoha!

Ok i realised with my growing collection, things are getting messier as i keep throwing them into my display cabinet. I finally got time to rearrange them today! The result is this:
New additions include fate/hollow ataraxia vol 2, Rozen Maiden Traumend's Shinku (Yujin SR DX), both of which i got during the KKnM mini event over the weekend, and Peace@Pieces' Nagi. Now i need to find some space to put in my lucky star nendoroids without blocking anything else..hmm..
I also got a Nanatsuiro Drops' clear poster, with Sumomo on it. Now my door looks so much more colorful!
With this done, the next thing on the line will be to sort out my pencil boards and files collection to update into here.

New Additions
Busy week. Finally have some spare time to update.
Firstly, new purchases include a old Dengeki Trading Figurine set, 3x Sylvanian Family trading figures (whee more cats!), and lastly the Comptiq Ver. of the Lucky Star nendoroids! I haven't had time to take pictures yet, but yea will upload once they are ready.
Also managed to get a Clannad file, Shana pin-badge and Dengeki G's Magazine (June 08) from KKnM. Speaking of which, it has been a long time since i last purchase a pencil board/file! The last purchase i remembered was when i passed by M.A.G.E shop, i just dropped by to browse, and viola! i had found quite a number of files i were looking for! Perhaps i will upload pics of all the files/shitajiki i have when i get the time to do so after i ord..hmm..
Later today there will be a 1-for-1 event at KKnM, whereby when a item is purchased, a 2nd item of similar value or lower can be obtained for free..effectively making it a 50% discount. I don't exactly feel like squeezing through crowds these few days, but guess i will have to make it an exception tomorrow..hopefully by the time i get there i am still able to get my shinku figurine..have been eyeing on it for quite..some..time..
Ok time to sign off and sleep..if not i will never wake up early later on today

Quite interesting to see how the type of people we call friends can turn around to bite you, thinking they can outsmart you with their indirect barrage of insults, and then claim that "Oh no that was not meant for you". Bull. One warning - do not step on my tail.

Just received word on the convention that will be held in the later part of June. Wonder if the scale and contents will be able to rival Comiket..hmm..

Kinokuniya Discount This Weekend
There's a 20% storewide discount at all Kinokuniya outlets this weekend, 16 - 18 May! Perhaps it's time to top up my magazine collection..hmm..

I would like to bring to attention the above-mentioned shop. I am very impressed with how the owner dealt with his customers, and in this case, me.
I had helped a friend to reserve a piece of figurine, and after 2 delays, he was still unable to come up with enough cash to pay for it. My friend decided that he had to give the figurine up due to financial issues. So on behalf of my friend again, i informed the owner of the situation, but instead of chewing me out, he actually offered to hold the reserved product for my friend until he can afford it! But i felt that it was just not fair to him if he did this as we did not put any down-payment for the reservation of the product, so i told him to cancel the reservation instead so that he could perhaps sell it to someone else instead of just waiting for my friend to accumulate the desired amount.
I am someone who views customer service very seriously, and this shop certainly excelled in it. It is small gestures like this that makes customers return and patronise them again.
To briefly introduce this shop, it's located at Level 2 of Cineleisure. They mainly sell Transformers i suppose, as there are many Transformers merchandise/figures around. But they also do have an assortment of trading figurines and pre-painted scaled figurines available for sale. There are even some shitajiki pasted at the counter, though i never enquired if they are for sale. Perhaps you would like to drop by to have a look should you be a collector!

Lucky Star Nendoroids, Spice & Wolf Horo
This week's haul included a pair of Official Homepage Version Lucky Star Nendoroids, as well as Horo from Spice & Wolf.

Hello wolf goddess! The 1/7 Horo is considered my first "big" figurine, as all along i had only been collecting trading figurines and gashapon items. I am very impressed by the amount of effort put into the fine and minute details of the figurine, as well as the well matched colours of the artwork! And of course, it was SO MUCH easier to handle than the small trading figurines i am handling all this time - her foot fitted exactly into the base plate without any hassle. Guess these explain the price we pay for such figurines..

Next is the Lucky Star Nendoroids i got. For those who do not know, there are 3 versions of Lucky Star Nendoroids - namely the Official Homepage Ver, Chara-ani Ver and Comptiq Ver. There are 2 standard faceplates across all the 3 sets, but each set will have a unique set of 3rd faceplate and limbs/accessories. More information can be found at http://www.nendoroid.jp/ .
When i first opened up the box for Konata, the first thing that i got shocked was that..her ahoge was movable! Hahaha..ok that aside..the thing that is unique in the Official Homepage Ver for Konata is the "DA DA DA DA" thing that she does during the OP of the anime, as shown here:
Of course, what is Konata if she does not portray her signature （＝ω＝.）.
The set also includes our beloved tsundere Kagami! This version of the Kagami nendoroid feature a "tsun" faceplate, as shown here:

Pictures Update - Gashapon HP Swings
Initially i boxed up all my HP swings, like in the picture below:
My HP Swings Being Caged!I had a hard time trying to make every single one of them face upright and stay immobile. Furthermore, i was afraid that the PVC of the swings will go through solid-state diffusion/solubilisation with the plastic base of the box i was using (face it, i'm a chemistry student), so i decided to find an alternative to display them. After much search for materials, i finally came by with something feasible! There's this extendable bar that i found, which is actually meant for wardrobes etc., but hey, it fits my purpose too! Now the only problem is getting them to face the front..

The next picture consist of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia Figure Collection Vol 1. If you are wondering where is Vol. 2, i did not get them as 1. budget issues and 2. i am only after Rin in that set. Perhaps i would get it once i have spare allowance left over after this month. Ok you may also notice my set of DC P.S D figurines behind..i did not take a shot of those as sadly, it is a VERY incomplete set..

Ok now this set of figurines..are neither here nor there..but heck i'll just classify them under trading figurines. First there is Shana and Konoe Fumina from Shakugan no Shana II. I got this from a G'S Anime Festival Magazine..if i remember correctly.. Anyway, they are part of the Solid Works Collection DX Set (you can find more information here http://www.amiami.com/shop/ProductInfo/product_id/95392) . Also there is Nagasarete Airantou's Machi, which i got from a special edition Vol. 5 of the manga. (please disregard the cup that you see behind, it was a gift and i had nowhere else to display)
